Join SCIMHA’s initiative to expand access to infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH) services across South Carolina. We’re seeking up to 15 professionals to become certified DC:0–5™ trainers — helping build a statewide network of experts prepared to train diagnosing professionals in the developmentally appropriate, relationship focused mental health diagnostic system for children aged 0–5.

DC:0-5™ is the internationally recognized system for developmentally appropriate assessment and diagnosis of young children’s mental health.Â
Our goal is to enhance access to IECMH assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services in South Carolina through:
Systems Change
Increase access to mental health support for children (0-3)Â
Collaboration
With SC Medicaid and cross-sector representatives
Awareness
Show the importance of increasing the clinical use of DC:0-5™
Expansion
Build a network of trainers to hep support training in DC:0-5™

In order to meet these goals and elevate Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health as a specialization, we are inviting 15 diagnosing professionals to join our
Training-Of-Trainers Cohort
DC:0–5 Certified Training-of-Trainers (ToT) prepares clinicians to deliver DC:0–5 Training curriculum to clinicians from fields of mental health, health, and early intervention who are responsible for diagnosis in their own sites or locales.Â
DC:0–5™: Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood captures the latest scientific findings and clinical research on infant and early childhood mental health.

Minimum of a master’s degree in mental health, health, or a related field

Current board certification or clinical license in the state/country of employment

Minimum of three years’ IECMH clinical experience with children ages 0-5

Minimum of three years’ experience as an adult educator training professionals responsible for diagnoses

After the Open House, if you'd like to start the process, you must apply through the Zero To Three portal and meet the criteria established by Zero To Three.
SCIMHA staff will work with potential trainers before they submit their applications to discuss how to effectively highlight their work experience and showcase their skills in the application.
Important Dates:Â
August 6th at 10am: Â DC: 0-5 Open House Learn more about the TOT training
August 15th: Initial applications due to SCIMHA
August 19th: SCIMHA selects TOT cohortÂ
October 3rd: All SC applications completed and turned into ZTT for final approval
December 9-11th 12pm-5:30pm: South Carolina DC: 0-5Â Training-Of-Trainers Sessions with ZTT
*SCIMHA will arrange a free DC: 0-5 Training if the applicant has not previously attended trainingÂ
