Did you know that 10-16% of infants have mental health concerns?

And that number grows to 22% for infants living in poverty.

It’s hard to grasp that babies, with those adorable faces, can have mental health concerns, but it’s true.

The signs of mental health concerns in babies and young children look different than those of adolescents and adults, so oftentimes, the cues they give us go unnoticed.

If you’re a professional that works with children and families, it’s crucial to understand what infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH) is so you can shift the way you serve and care for them.

Our mission at the SC Infant Mental Health Association (SCIMHA) is to bring more awareness to the issues facing our tiniest and most vulnerable population across the state.

And that’s why we are offering our introduction to IECMH completely FREE for anyone in South Carolina who works and cares for children (0-5) and wants to learn more.
